Digital gold is easy and affordable for new investors who want to accumulate gold without storing physical metal. But remember the GST, fees, tax and limited regulatory oversight compared with traditional gold investing methods.

Digital gold is convenient, flexible, and good for small or short-term gold investments, but it comes with 3% GST, buy-sell spreads, taxation on gains, and is not regulated by SEBI or RBI, so it’s best used as a supplementary investment rather than a primary long-term one.

I learned that buying digital gold in India is actually very easy. I just opened an app I already use like Google Pay, Paytm, or Groww and went to the Digital Gold section. I entered a small amount like ₹500 or ₹1000, paid using UPI, and that was it. So easy and sorted work.
