CogAT is a Cognitive Abilities Test used for screening students based on their mental ability and IQ. The test has a different number of questions and paper duration for different grades ranging from Kindergarten to Grade 12.
Number of Questions in CogAT for Grade 4:
The total questions in CogAT for Grade 4 are 176 in total. These are divided into three sections namely Verbal, Qualitative and Non-Verbal batteries. The test duration for Grade 4 is 90 minutes.

Verbal Battery: Word-based and Sentence completion-based questions are asked to the candidate in this section. The candidate has to choose the most relevant answers as per the question from the given choices in the multiple-choice question form.

Qualitative Battery: Filling matrices with one number missing, and completing a number series by identifying and continuing the previous pattern are some examples of the problems that are asked in this section.

Non-Verbal Battery: Basic puzzles involving paper folding patterns are asked in this section.
Thus, this exam checks the imagination and analytical capabilities of the candidate. Imagination is essential for solving such complicated patterns. Also, identifying shapes and figures is also included in this section.
