How to open a bank account in India?
A bank account can be opened in both ways: online or offline. Here are the easy steps for opening a bank account-
1. Open Bank Account in Offline Mode
Step 1. Visit the nearest bank branch.
Step 2. Get the bank account opening form from the bank officials.
Step 3. Complete all the details including -
- type of bank account
- personal details
- KYC details
- a valid phone number
- and Email ID.
Step 4. Submit the duly signed account opening form along with your photo and copy of KYC documents.
Step 5. A welcome SMS will be sent to the mobile number you provided as soon as your bank account is approved. Afterward, collect your passbook, checkbook, and account information from the officials.
2. Open Account in Online Mode
Step 1. Visit the bank’s website
Step 2. Find the Apply Online or Open Account Now option and click on that option.
Step 3. Enter your valid phone number and verify the OTP received on that phone number.
Step 4. Enter KYC document details and upload the documents.
Step 5. Complete the Aadhar OTP Authentication and upload the Aadhar card photo also.
Step 6. Select the type of account and complete all the required details.
Step 7. Upload your photo and signature
Step 8. Read and accept the terms & conditions and submit the application form.
Step 9. Your account information will be shown on the screen and sent to your registered phone number.
Opening a bank account in India
One can open a bank account both online and offline. You must have an Aadhar card or any valid document for the KYC verification.
If you use the offline mode, you will receive your passbooks and cheque book on the same day. If you use the online mode, the same documents will be sent to your home address in 14 days.
